Addiction Medicine
You are not an addict.
You might be a husband, a son, a brother, a father. You might be a daughter, a mother, a sister, a wife. Maybe you’re an artist, a banker, a teacher, a doctor, a student, an attorney, or a renegade. You might be many things but…
You are not your addiction.
You are a human being coping with trauma, depression, anxiety, anger or fear. Struggling with shame, blame, guilt or your great darkness. You likely feel isolated but…
You are not alone.
At Rainfall Medicine you will find a place that takes a whole person approach to understanding and treating addiction, trauma, PTSD, depression and anxiety. You will find a place where you can heal or grow in safety and community. There’s no judgement. There’s no dogma. There’s nothing you can say or do that would shock or shun.
We are all recovering from something. It is only suffering if you do it alone. It’s only trauma if you let it stop you. We are here to give you:
Practical tools to mitigate the fear and suffering and regain your power in the process of recovery.
A pathway back to yourself, remembering who you were before the emotions and the behavior spiraled out of control.
A way to rechannel what others may see as recklessness that is really courage in disguise.
An understanding about how to care for yourself as first, a person with an addiction, and second, as one without it.
Hope in your journey to recovery. Recovery IS possible. It’s attainable—especially for you.
Recovery:
A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life and strive to reach their full potential.
At Rainfall Medicine, we provide medication-assisted treatment for opiate addiction using Suboxone and Vivitrol. We also provide full recovery counseling services. Additionally, there has been an increasing amount of literature to suggest ketamine may be useful in aiding with addiction recovery. Often at the heart of addiction is emotional and psychological pain, some of this pain may be from very early in life. This pain may be fully conscious for some, however many people are carrying buried memories and significant repressed emotion in their subconscious space.
Unfortunately, we can still react to things we are not fully conscious of. Consciousness expanding medicine such as ketamine can help one access the subconscious mind and integrate the traumatic material there. Additionally, ketamine can treat depression, anxiety, and PTSD that for some are the root of their addictions causing them to self-medicate with drugs and alcohol. Ketamine for addiction is not a standalone medicine or a silver bullet but can be an accelerant to the recovery and healing process when used in conjunction with an integrated recovery program.
Recovery is a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. Recovery takes many forms and all paths to recovery are accepted here.
No matter how or why you started your addiction. It now controls you. It dictates what you do, when and how. You are not yourself anymore. You are more than your addiction. You have more potential, more identity, and more power. If you’re tired of suppressing or ignoring the best parts of yourself, it is time to be true to you and give yourself a chance.
“The opposite of addiction is connection.”
